I finally got finished with this great book that I'd been trying to read for at least two weeks now. (I'm not a slow reader but when you have kids, they take up most of your time) But the book is called Washington's spies. It tells of how Washington had a spy ring going during the revolutionary war and it even dabbles in some about Benedict Arnold. But I did find interesting that during that time was when the first use of invisible ink was formulated and used. I'm not sure if it is true or not but I wouldn't put it past Washington to come up with that. Don't get me wrong, Washington was no saint either. He very much liked prostitutes, leaving him at odds with his wife a lot but as far as a president and a soldier, though, he was a force to be reckon with. If you read up on a lot of our forefathers, the majority of them weren't very nice as far as beings people persons but they were very smart ad far as government goes and military.
Who else can write a document that even to this day in time,2014,still use the document as it was said. I seriously doubt I can.
I believe that those of us who are fighting back against the government now believe in the same things that they believed in back then. Gerald O'Hara from"Gone with the wind" said best though. He said that land was the only thing worth fighting for, worth dying for. I for one agree with that. Without land, you would have nothing to call your own. You wouldn't have foundation on which to build home and family upon. Land provides food, shelter and if we treat it right, land makes us feel as if we're apart if something bigger.
Most of our forefathers were not Christians either, the people who discovered this land were but the ones who built the United States of America on that land were not. " In God we trust" was added to our money several years after most of our forefathers had died.
It's better to read up on history by way of books from stores or by history channel, even then you have to be skeptical on who's right. You surely cannot true the school systems one bit.
Til another time.......:-)

New sex ed books
I read a lot about how enraged parents are a the new sex ed books that some middle school children have. My only problem with the whole thing is that it's coming from the government. Things like that are meant to be taught at home by the parents. Also, I really do not see why parents are so outraged over children getting married so young.
Back in old days, parents arranged their children's marriages. Some as young as infants were promised to boys and some got married to a man of the parent's approval at the age of sixteen. Its called surviving. Most of the ancestors of people that live in this country have probably had family members that have done that or had that happen to them. A lot of the ones complaining should be lucky because if some hadn't done that then the complainers wouldn't even be here.
If my son gets some girl pregnant at sixteen then I would expect him to do the right thing and marry her. The bible says that when a woman gets married then she becomes one with the man. Naturally, at any age, that would mean that the girl that gets pregnant or even just marries the boy or man then should leave her family and live with his. It would mean that all of you who read this and are high school or college age, running around and getting girls pregnant then need to man up, take your responsibility and be the father/man of the house!
People these days are such babies when it comes to things of this matter.
We need to teach children our country's real history. Not spend a day or week on wars and not spend an eternity on slavery that really only happened for maybe twelve years. Stop all this calling people racist and stop pushing being gay and interracial relationships on children.
Grow a pair of balls, and get over it!!!

Southern thing...
One thing that I've noticed that's pretty dominant here in the south, is a healthy respect for the military. It may be because in almost every Southern family, there is at least a cousin or grandfather or some relative that is/was a war veteran and most probably have someone overseas right now as your reading this. In my family, my great grandfather on my mother's side was a world war vet and my grandfather on my father's side is a Korean war veteran. I have a great-uncle on my dad's side that's a world war ll veteran and one that's a Korean war vet.
I have a cousin that has went to Afghanistan and Iraq and a cousin in the Navy, army and air force right now. Some may have more and some may have less. But we as Southerners have a very healthy respect for our military.

More and more...
Each and everyday I'm seeing on the news or on Facebook how restaurants are taking certain things off media to appease the Muslims and even though christian children children can't pray in school but they can make them bow to the Muslim Allah or they actually suspend them for it. The last time I checked, people, this was America. The country of the free and home to the brave. Of course now it needs to be changed to " America, country of the enslaved and home of cowards" now because nobody is standing up for anything! This country prided itself on having its own citizens take up for themselves even against the government. I don't think it has set in on how far we've fallen off of our pedestal yet to a lot of people.
Now granted, I'm of the pagan spirituality but I think in a way Christians deserve/don't deserve what their getting. Christians have tormented and mocked and ridiculed and judged others of a different religion for YEARS and now that many are getting back what they dished out, their playing the victim card now. After all these years, Christians are getting their own taste of medicine.
I've been saying that a civil war will be reenacted this time for real but if you really open your eyes, its happening now. Our rights are slowly being taken away, our protection is being attacked, its only a matter of time when our food and other small things will be attacked, but believe me when I say that it is coming. You can rest assured that. Call me crazy or call me a conspiracy theorist if you want but its coming. And half the population of this country doesn't even realize it. Those that deny will get a harsh awakening!
Believe me yet?

My town...
I hr a lot of people talk crap about my little hometown but to be honest, I love it here. Granted, its a rather small place and the nearest grocery store or Walmart is fifteen miles away and the nearest mall is thirty miles away in two different directions but I don't mind. the school system consists of one building that houses kinder garden through sixth grade and it is one straight hallway with doors at either end and the high school building is constructed like an 'h' with two long hallways and one short in the middle. And the school population is about three hundred kids in the entire system. Even the college here is small. And the two consists of a police department, hair salon, cell phone store, bank, two gas stations, a dollar general store and a snack place and nothing else. Even though the county has gone 'wet', you have to go fifteen miles to the nearest town to get alcohol.
Everyone knows everyone. My family has always lived here, for generations upon generations. My husband complains that there never is anything to do here but then again he was born in Florida. Around here you go hunting and fishing and you attend every high school football game every Friday night.
I love this town. I hope that my son comes to love it as well

True country/just for show
Mornin'
Nowadays it's getting harder and harder to be able to tell a true Southerner from someone who just wears the clothes and boots. Everyone has buckets of self-confidence and take way too many pictures of themselves. So its pretty hard to tell a true Southerner from one who pretends when its appropriate.
A true Southerner doesn't brag that she's (or he) country. They wear their cowboy boots and jeans because their comfortable. They eat the typical southern food without bragging that they made it all by themselves. They also have manners and are respectable to everyone and yes they might be a little bit racist.
Those that play dress up, usually only do it when they go to a concert or somewhere that they might be seen wearing the jeans and boots. They constantly brag about 'being country' and everything else. They also do not know how to cook nor do they even make homemade things.
There is s huge difference in the two types. Sometimes its easy to tell but mostly its hard to tell but a true Southerner can tell from miles away:-)
Bless your hearts!

Easter
Happy easter!
Today is Easter and most of you have went your church's sunrise service and then to church and are now preparing easter eggs or preparing to visit family. Weather is holding up nicely except that its rather windy out. I do have one interesting thing to note that, did you know that the holiday that you are celebrating today was once a pagan holiday called Ostara? Or that the rabbit, or hare, is associated with this holiday because it represents fertility. The eggs represent abundance and new life. And if you bury a raw egg in your garden or by your front door, its supposed to bring you fertility and abundance during the year.
This blog is inspired by my being from the South but I lean towards my native american roots and my German roots when it comes to spirituality. Sitting in a stuffy old church building surrounded by family who only are nice to you when they see you, only during the holidays. I prefer to be out in the open air, surrounded by chattering birds, feeling the wind blow across my face and through my hair.
But anyways, happy holidays!

Bundy situation
The media and the government are saying that the Bundy family are terrorists when they only stood up to the government. Anyone who tries to stand up for their rights is deemed terrorist. I know it in my heart that there is a civil war coming. We are living in a modern version of the civil war, 'gone with the wind' type days. We need to stick together in times like these.

Reliving old times.
Hello all,
I strongly believe that we are reliving history. Only that we skipped the part where we came to America and fast forwarded to the civil war times. Blacks and whites are hating each other, and the racism and hatred is rising and tempers are rising with each time a rape or murder between black and whites happens. Its going to come to a boil I g point eventually. Only this time, the government is more powerful and there are less citizens willing to fight against Yankees.
The South still doesn't have as many weapon factories as the north does but hopefully we'll still have the fighting spirit we had all those years ago. This time, women can fight. I believe in the South, do you?
I believe that there isn't a better place to live or raise children then the good ole' South. Where religion and family is just as important as good manners and good food. Where children as young as twelve learn to shoot guns and can hunt or fish.
What do you all think?

Which one are you?
I find myself to be a mix of both, honestly. So which one are you?
And for the gentlemen, are you Rhett Butler or Ashley Wilkes?
Comment with your answer.
Bless your heart.

Question
OK, is it just me or do people who dress up for an occasion that they normally don't wear, get on your nerves too? Like say you see a girl who you just know does not care about hunting wear Camo, or wear football jerseys even if she don't watch any games ever. Or those that never wear cowboy boots ever but suddenly have pictures of themselves in a pair.
I ain't trying to be mean but if your going to do that, do it for something you actually care about and not a once-in-a-lifetime-thing-you-once-went-to-with-a-husband-or-friend kind of thing! Don't be a people pleaded, hell, just be comfortable.
Screw what others think of you.

Polar opposites
Hello y'all,
Today I wonder how my husband I have stayed married as long as we have. We are two total opposites and rarely agrees on anything. He loves the beach, living somewhere where you can always have something to do, he rarely will step outside of our house without some kind of shoes on, he keeps all the curtains drawn like he's afraid of someone seeing him at home, he even rarely sits on our porch, he'd rather stay inside like a hermit playing video games or watching movies.
Whereas myself, I love the outdoors, hate the beach, love living in the woods or small towns, love being outside barefoot, likes having curtains open where I can see the sunlight, even like having the windows open on a cool day, love sitting on the porch all day long either playing with my son or reading or knitting.
I'm born and raised in good ole' Alabama but he's from Florida. (You can say Florida is southern all you want but all that state is, is full of Yankees that live near a beach) I want my son to be raised the southern way but he doesn't.
He's one of those that think southerners are slow and stupid, so yeah we have our problems. But I do love him and without him I wouldn't have the sweet little boy that's running around playing right now :-)
A little education in good ole' southern ways is in order,I guess haha!
Hope y'all have a good day and God bless

Ban this flag? You kidding me!
The news now wants to ban this flag. I just want to say that if this flag has endured for this long, then there must be a reason for it. We are basically re-living the civil war days, only the war is brewing and hasn't happened....yet, and the amount of people that do not know or are oblivious to this are astronomical. We need to take a stand now. Our history is being erased slowly by ignorant morons and we have the power to stop this. I believe that if we do not get Obuma out if office then we'll never get rid of him. It's only a matter if time. People like me are telling you all the truth but most are too lazy to stand up or too comfortable where they are to even try to do anything about this. I fear that in my lifetime or in my son's lifetime that there will no longer be a United States of America. Freedom is a joke. I've said this before and I will say it again, this country has LESS rights now then our forefathers did and they actually had a backbone to stand up and fight!
I do not know about you but I do not want to disappoint my ancestors whom fought in the revolutionary war, civil war and world war ll and the Korean war and those whom have fought in this war with Iraq and Afghanistan, by just sitting by while idiots take over. Our country was founded on religious freedom but now unless you are Muslim you aren't american, a few years ago Christians were that way but my point is We NEED TO TAKE A STAND BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shameful
I found on another blogspot website that showed four suspects accused in torturing and burning alive three white people. And my only question would be why are we letting stuff like this happen? Slavery days need to be brought back, because of things like that. It's ridiculous.

Rest in peace
Today marks a dark day in NASCAR history. Back in 2001 on this day, Dale Earnhart died during his final lap at Daytona beach, Florida. A great racer that will be forever missed. :-)
How?
How can we be sitting back and let Muslims take over? One cafe has been closed due to the smell of bacon offending Muslims who are simply walking by. If your just walking by and get offended by a smell then take the sidewalk on the other side or go a different route! It's not rocket science.
We call ourselves Americans but we are actually less free then those of places like new Zealand. How can that not make you outraged? The government was created by simple men, yet now it is run by idiots. The american government has lost the sight that they work for US not the other way around. Are we really going to just sit back and let a foreigner screw up everything our ancestors built?
My family came over here from Germany and England and have fought in the revolutionary war and civil war an both world wars, those of you with similar family histories should be outraged at how pathetic our country has become.
This country was founded on freedom but will die without it unless we get the leech out of office!!!!
