Happy easter!
Today is Easter and most of you have went your church's sunrise service and then to church and are now preparing easter eggs or preparing to visit family. Weather is holding up nicely except that its rather windy out. I do have one interesting thing to note that, did you know that the holiday that you are celebrating today was once a pagan holiday called Ostara? Or that the rabbit, or hare, is associated with this holiday because it represents fertility. The eggs represent abundance and new life. And if you bury a raw egg in your garden or by your front door, its supposed to bring you fertility and abundance during the year.
This blog is inspired by my being from the South but I lean towards my native american roots and my German roots when it comes to spirituality. Sitting in a stuffy old church building surrounded by family who only are nice to you when they see you, only during the holidays. I prefer to be out in the open air, surrounded by chattering birds, feeling the wind blow across my face and through my hair.
But anyways, happy holidays!
Confederate love
